Mabelene H. Young, 85, a native of Roanoke, AL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 11, 2016 at 1:19 pm in Dallas, TX. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mabelene worked most her career at Palm Beach Company and Harco Drugs & Carport. She was born on March 9, 1931, the daughter of Benjamin C and Lucy H. Spears. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie “Clarence” Young; two sisters, Gladys and Allie Kirby; two brothers, Leon and Grady Spears; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Norred, all of Randolph County. Survivors include her son, Michael Henderson and son-in-law, Kevin Moshinski, of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Patricia Burke (husband, Tommy) and Lura Norred of Roanoke; one brother, Jewell Spears (wife, Ruth) of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tommy S. Burke, Chuckie Norred, Andrew Norred, Jamie Norred, Derick Norred, and Keith Adamson. We will forever love you & you’re always in our hearts, yours & mine.
