Funeral services for Grover Junior Weathers, age 89, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 3:00 PM (CST) from Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Yaughn and David Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 PM (CST) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Mr. Weathers passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Frances L. Weathers of Roanoke; one daughter, Kathy W. Morsch (husband, Harry “Chip”) of Roanoke; one son, Roger A. Weathers (wife, Shirley) of Roanoke; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Macelia Weathers Brayton of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and one brother, W.G. Weathers of LaGrange, GA. Pallbearers will be Jarred Morsch, Justin Morsch, Thorley Weathers, Logan Weathers, Garrett Rollins, and David Baldwin. A Rock Mills native, Mr. Weathers was born on July 18, 1927, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Tessie Verlie Young Weathers. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran and was a cattle farmer. Mr. Weathers was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
