Funeral services for Billy Harold Calhoun, age 84, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2016. Mr. Calhoun passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Traylor’s Nursing Center. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Calhoun of Roanoke; one son, Billy Dwayne Calhoun (wife, Karen) of Knoxville, TN; two stepdaughters, Becky Jane Hill and Elaine Daniels (husband, Steve), both of Roanoke; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Calhoun Windsor of Roanoke and Shelvie Jean Givorns of Lanett. A Woodland native, Mr. Calhoun was born on April 20, 1932, the son of Lilton Rudy and Ara Thompson Calhoun. He was a United States Veteran of the Korean War and worked for Lanett Dye Works and Amoco Fabrics. Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Cato Calhoun; two sisters, Bernice Benedict and Lillis Calhoun; and one brother, David “Pete” Calhoun.
