Funeral services for Lois Rice Turner, age 91, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 3:30 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Derek Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Mrs. Turner passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at Traylor’s Nursing Center. Survivors include: one son-in-law, Nathan Burks; one daughter-in-law, Barbara L. Turner; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Russell Kirby, Russell Turner, Jon Pike, Timmy Burks, Jimmy Burks, and Tony Burks. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Turner was born on November 13, 1925, the daughter of Aubrey Rice and Lillie Gosdin Rice Daniel. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and worked as a retail clerk for Super D. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond A. Turner; one daughter; Janice Burks; one son; Bobby Wayne Turner; one grandson, Jerry Lee Burks; one sister, Carrie Daniel; and an infant brother.
