Obituary of Cecil Cobb

Funeral services for Cecil Cobb, age 84, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Monday. Survivors include one daughter, Cecilia Almon (husband, John) of Columbia, TN; one son, Terry Cobb (wife, Mendy) of Maryville, TN; one step-daughter, Karen Earles of Valley, AL; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shelby Treadwell and Marie Rashford; and three brothers, Harold, Bo, and Pete Cobb. Pallbearers will be Brandon Cobb, Kenneth Treadwell, David Treadwell, Lee Cobb, Derek Cobb, and Lance Smith. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Cobb was born on May 5, 1932, the son of Freeman and Pearl Mason Cobb. He was Methodist by faith, a United States Korean War Navy Veteran, and had worked as the location manager for Hall’s Gas Company in Valley, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mavis Cottle Cobb; his second wife, Joyce Daphine Cobb; two sisters, Vera Wilson and Adelene Cottle; and one brother, Houston Cobb.
