Obituary of Robert Oneal Bennett

Funeral services for Robert Oneal Bennett, age 69, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Mills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, May 28 before services begin.

Mr. Bennett passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Survivors include: two brothers, Roy Bennett (wife, Shirley) and James Wallace Bennett, both of Rock Mills.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bennett, Eric Bennett, Jeff Johnson, Kevin Littlefield, Mark Bennett, and Anthony Pike.

A Rock Mills native, Mr. Bennett was born on April 25, 1948, the son of Walter L. and Sarah Carrie Criswell Bennett.  He attended Standing Rock Assembly of God and worked in shipping at Milliken.  Mr. Bennet was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Winnie Fred Johnson, Mary Arrington, and Annelle Littlefield; and three brothers, Grover Bennett, Willie Joe Bennett, and Ray Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward Mr. Bennett’s funeral expenses c/o Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College St., Roanoke, AL 36274.
