Obituary of Charlie Freeman

Funeral services for Charlie Freeman, age 83, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Whaley officiating.  Burial will follow at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mr. Freeman passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl Hipps (Rick) of Moore, OK; one son, Charles “Pete” Freeman (Teressa) of Cullman, AL; six grandchildren, Patricia Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Kari Freeman, Tanya Billeaud, Michelle Billeaud, and Bobbie Jo Hipps; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Freeman was born on June 17, 1939, the son of Leroy and Willie Shaw Freeman.  He worked as a truck driver for Crowder Trucking and American Steeples and Baptistries.  Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Annette Johnson Freeman; and siblings, Lonnie D. Freeman, Tom Freeman, and Sue Freeman Whaley.

Pallbearers will be Brian Strickland, Jesus Velasquez, Rudy Velasquez, Christian Diaz, and rick Hipps. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Freeman and Chris Freeman.

The family would like to express special thanks to Mr. Freeman’s boss Brian Strickland and his wife Holly, Allison Bailey, and all of his coworkers at American Steeples and Baptistries.
