Funeral services for Gerson Carson, age 73, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mark Brand officiating.  Burial will follow at Forrester’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-8:00 PM on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Mr. Carson passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Roanoke Healthcare Center.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Walker Carson of Roanoke; a brother, Wyatt Carson (Dawn) of Roanoke; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richard Lashley, Alexander Carson, Bryan Carson, Wyatt Carson, Patrick Thomas, and Bill Clegg.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Carson was born on September 15, 1949, the son of Colbert Delmar and Dorothy Lela White Carson.  He was a member of Handley Avenue Church of God and was a United States Army veteran.  Mr. Carson was employed with Bonnell Aluminum and worked in a water treatment plant during his career.  He loved to fish and grill out.  Mr. Carson was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Carson; and siblings, Leroy Carson, Shelia Carson, George Carson, and Rebecca Clegg.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home at 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274, to go toward final arrangements.
