Memorial services for Katherine “Katie” Tomblin, age 38, of Wadley will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Benny Yates officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Katie passed away on May 31, 2023, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include: two sons, Vladamir Levi Smith and Logan Riely Smith; her mother, Cynthia Hill; one brother, Matthew Travis Hill; and two nephews, Joseph Andrew Hill and Dakota Matthew Hill.

A lifelong Wadley resident, Katie was born in Opelika, AL, on July 5, 1984, the daughter of William Andrew and Cynthia Hamlet Hill.  She was Baptist by faith and was a homemaker.  Katie’s boys were the light of her life.  She loved the river, fishing, collecting arrowheads, and her dogs.  Katie was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Steve Tomblin; and her grandparents, Nonnie Hill, Andrew Hill, Katherine Hamlet Hester, and Albert Hamlet.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to help her children.
