Obituary of Mavis Reaves Morris
Funeral services for Mavis L. Reaves Morris, age 90, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Brand officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Friday before services begin.
Mrs. Morris passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at her residence.
Survivors include: Teresa Morris Cavanagh of Roanoke; one son, Randall Wyatt Morris of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lillar Reaves Davis of LaGrange, GA.
A Cleburne County native, Mrs. Morris was born on May 28, 1933, the daughter of Columbus Lee and Emily Irene Whitley Reaves. She was a member of Handley Avenue Church of God and was a poultry farmer. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse “Jake” Morris; and eight brothers.
