Obituary
Funeral services for Donna Jean Hester, age 61, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Derek Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, July 21st.
Mrs. Hester passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Weeden of Roanoke and two sisters, Cindy Meadows and Susan Cofield (Ricky), both of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Ben Hester, Chris Harmon, Liam Sheppard, Dylan Carter, Timothy “Pee-Wee” Terry, and Rocky Tittle.
Mrs. Hester was born in Wedowee, Alabama, on March 5, 1962, the daughter of Herman Allen and Elizabeth “Jackie” Wilson Hester. She was Christian by faith and spent most of her career as a dispatcher for LaGrange, Georgia P.D., Cedar Park, Texas P.D., Roanoke P.D., and Randolph County S.O. Her love of her fur babies and other animals led her to later work as a receptionist at Four Paws Animal Hospital. Mrs. Hester also enjoyed trips to the casino. She was preceded in death by her parents.
