Funeral services for Johnny Screws, age 69, of Wadley will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Bro. Mike Kirby officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30-2:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mr. Screws passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Bridget Screws of Wadley; one son, Brantley Screws of Woodland; five grandchildren, Evan, Levi, Dante, Kalli, and Nadia; two sisters, Lynn Screws and Reppie York (Red), both of Franklin, GA; and one brother, Kem Screws of Wadley.

Pallbearers will be Walt Albright, Joshua Burson, Levi Screws, Dante Jordan, Jordan Roysdon, and Jace Roysdon.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Screws was born on April 22, 1954, the son of Claude Lee and SeDenia Knight Screws.  He attended Napoleon Church of Christ and was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Screws worked as a truck driver for Vaughn Trucking, in construction for OCI, and also worked on the railroad.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Shane Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
