Obituary of Ricky M. Slagle

Visitation for Ricky M. Slagle, age 74, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM.  Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Cannon officiating.

Mr. Slagle passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at his daughter’s residence.

Survivors include: one daughter Kellie Young (Jamie) of Roanoke; one son, Jason Slagle of Roanoke; Godson, Roby Carden; six grandchildren, Savannah Slagle, Makayla Slagle, Peyton Slagle, Victoria Ennis, Regan Young, and Eli Young; one great-grandchild, Lakelyn; nieces and nephews, Shelia Davis (Christian), Dewayne Toland (Tammy), and Misty Cofield (Chuck); and several great-nieces and nephews.

A lifelong Clacksville resident, Mr. Slagle was born on February 28, 1949, the son of Elvin Mark and Dolly Mae Gann Slagle.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked as a weaver at West Point Pepperell and at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers.  Mr. Slagle was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Cofield.
