Graveside services for Betty Ann Mitchum Moore, 89, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Cedarwood Cemetery with Bro. Tim Whaley officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In the event of inclement weather, the funeral service will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Moore passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at her home.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Moore of Roanoke; two sons, Doug Moore (Teresa) and Larry Moore (Denease), both of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Josh Moore (Katie) and Jessica Bradley (Aaron); one great-grandchild, Weston Bradley; one brother, Johnny Mitchum of Dalton, GA; and a lifelong family friend that Mrs. Moore’s children considered a second mama, Mrs. Jeanette Baker, of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Doug Moore, Larry Moore, Josh Moore, Gerry Knight,  Paul Taylor and Johnny Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Mitchum and Aaron Bradley.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Moore was born on December 2, 1934, the daughter of James Henry and Avris Sherrer Mitchum. She was a member of Roanoke First Methodist Church. Mrs. Moore had worked as a secretary for her husband at JLM Company/Moore’s Millwork and at Jack Kitchen’s Pontiac Buick Dealership. She also served as the head of the Pink Ladies at Roanoke Hospital. Later in life, Mrs. Moore enjoyed puzzles and tracing her family lineage. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Moore; and two brothers, Jimmy Mitchum and Billy Mitchum.
