Obituary of Robert Samuel Bailey, Jr.
Funeral services for Robert Samuel “Cooter” Bailey, Jr., age 73, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-1:00 PM on Tuesday before services begin.
Mr. Bailey passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Lafayette Nursing Home.
He is survived by one brother; Rueben Bailey of Roanoke; one niece, Lindsey Bailey of Roanoke; and a great-nephew, Brody Bailey of Roanoke.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Bailey was born on October 27, 1950, the son of Robert Samuel Bailey, Sr., and Rilma Jane Haynes Bailey. He worked at Handley Mill and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
