Obituary of James "Kenny" Shepard

Funeral services for James “Kenny” Kenneth Shepard, age 73, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM CST at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with David Gamblin, Sr., officiating.  Burial will follow at Liberty East Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM CST on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Mr. Shepard passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include: two daughters, Lesleigh Deloach(Marty) and Lori Walton; one grandchild, Leah; one great-grandchild, Grayson; two sisters, Dianne Sego and Elaine Clark; one brother, Travis Sheppard; and very good friend, Casey Hand.

Pallbearers will be Doug Gazaway, David Gamblin, Jr., Jay Clark, Charlie Shepard, Justin Clark, and Eddie Shepard.  Extended friends and family will serve as honorary pallbearers.

An Atlanta, Georgia native, Mr. Shepard was born on October 22, 1950, the son of Jerry Levi and Mattie Francis Gore Shepard.  He was worked for the City of Atlanta and also drove a truck for Ron Hineman.  Mr. Shepard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Penny Shepard; a grandson, Justin Shepard; and siblings Harlin Sheppard, Delte Sheppard, Novis Gazaway, Marline Moon, Jerry Sheppard, and Wayne Shepard.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
