Obituary of Roger Eugene Sheppard

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mr. Roger Eugene Sheppard, of Standing Rock, age 60, will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 4:00 pm from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald Sheppard officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2009. Mr. Sheppard died October 18, 2009 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Autrey Sheppard of Standing Rock; two sons, Randall Sheppard of Standing Rock, Sean Michaels of Roanoke; two sisters, Nell Barrett of Franklin, Dinah Bailey of Lafayette; four brothers, Jimmy Sheppard of Wade, NC, Gerald Sheppard of Rock Mills, Ted Sheppard of Glenn, GA, Jack Sheppard of Auburn; two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Autrey, Darin Mitchell, Scottie Sheppard, Willie Joe Autrey, Jerry Autrey and B. J. Knight. Mr. Sheppard was born August 23, 1949, the son of James and Euthia Thompson Sheppard. He was of the Holliness faith and had been a machinist for Shore Wood Packaging of LaGrange, GA. Mr. Sheppard was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stanley Sheppard; one brother, Tommy Sheppard; one sister, Joyce Butler.
