Obituary of Ruby Rotton

Funeral services for Ruby Rotton, age 93, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Roanoke First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Ramage officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the services beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
Mrs. Rotton died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
Survivors include two nieces, Yvonne Rotton Myers of Equality and Gaynelle Bailey Parks of Auburn; and a nephew, Bentley Rotton.
Pallbearers will be John Tinney, John Landers, Byron Morrison and Tommy Cato.
A long-time Roanoke resident, Mrs. Rotton was born June 24, 1917, at Texas, Georgia, daughter of Lyman and Cora Kitchens. She was a member of Roanoke First Baptist Church and had been a school teacher at West Point Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred Rotton.
