Obituary of Hattie Jennell Glass

Funeral services for Hattie Jennell Glass, age 77, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Horace Harper and Rev. Donald Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
Mrs. Glass passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include: her husband, Monroe Glass of Roanoke; two daughters, Carol Jones (husband, Nathan) of Roanoke and Gloria Pearl of Roanoke; four sons, Wayne Glass, Webb Glass, Roy Glass (wife, Erin), and Neil Glass (wife, Kristie) all of Roanoke; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Garrett, Nathan Jones, Robbie Hill, Larry McVey, Chuck Barrett, Mac Rushton, Dwayne Perry, and Barry Owens.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Glass was born on May 8, 1937, the daughter of Henry Oscar and Emma Sheppard Hill. She was a member of Rock Mills Community Holliness and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Hill; one grandson, John Michael Huckabee, Jr.; five brothers, Everett Hill, Leon Hill, James Hill, Alpha Hill, and Wallace Hill; and two sisters, Vena Holloway and Ina Satterwhite.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
