Obituary of Rita Kay Robinson

Funeral services for Rita Kay Robinson, age 55, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Benefield and Rev. Phillip Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2015 and from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday. Ms. Robinson passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center. Survivors include one daughter, Kim Knight (husband, Ronnie) of Dadeville; one son, Thad Owens (wife, Amanda) of Roanoke; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Westerman of Monahans, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Chuck Estes, Jim Pike, Patrick George, Bernie Knight, Luke Burns, and Edward Barrett. A Randolph County resident for most of her life, Ms. Robinson was born on December 11, 1959, the daughter of Buddy Walker and Virginia Robinson. She was a member of Midway Full Gospel Church and had been employed as an LPN at Woodland Clinic. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Alvin Owens, Jr.; and one daughter, Britney Alison Owens.
