Obituary of Geneva J. Adams

Memorial services for Geneva J. Adams, age 69, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 1:30 PM CST from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Minister Butch Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:30 PM CST on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Mrs. Adams passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Adams of Roanoke; one daughter, Charlotte Adams Finver of Boca Raton, FL; two sons, David Charles Adams of Newnan, GA and Daniel Hudson Adams of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Megan Finver, Jared Finver, and Kaitlyn Adams; one brother, Nathan Johnson of Yorkville, GA; one niece, Kelley Kitchens of Douglasville, GA; two great nieces, Emma Kitchens and Sadie Kitchens; two special nieces, Lillie and Mattie Brown of Roanoke; and one nephew, Stephen Johnson of Yorkville, GA. Born in Whitfield County, Georgia, Mrs. Adams grew up in the Cashes Valley area of Gilmer County and was a graduate of the 1963 West Fannin County High School class. A resident of Roanoke for 36 years, Mrs. Adams was born on December 12, 1945, the daughter of Boyd and Carrie Newton Johnson. She retired as a teacher from the Troup County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rodger Johnson.
