Obituary of Novice Treadwell

Funeral services for Novice Treadwell, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ryan Conger and Rev. Jason Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
Mrs. Treadwell passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at St. Frances Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, James Melvin Treadwell of Roanoke; one daughter, Jackie Gilliland of Roanoke; one son, Jamie Treadwell (wife, Heather) of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Alan Williamson, Timmy Williamson, James “Bubba” Bales, Lyn Richardson, Gene Benefield, and Charles Wilson.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Treadwell was born on November 2, 1942, in LaGrange, Georgia, the daughter of Byron Arthur and Inez Smith Mitchell. She was a member of Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church and was a maintenance worker at Plantation Patterns. Mrs. Treadwell was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Brandy Treadwell; and two grandchildren, Raymond Gilliland and Chloe Treadwell.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
