Obituary of Frances Lorene Milner

Funeral services for Frances Lorene Milner, age 74, of LaFayette, will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Hammett, Rev. Floyd Aikens, and Rev. Chuck Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at Shiloh Baptist Church from 9:00-11:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2015. Mrs. Milner passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Trinity Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Milner, former principal of Chambers County High School and superintendent of Chambers County Board of Education, of LaFayette; one step-daughter, Gina Milner of Opelika; five sons, William Cole, Tim Cole (wife, Jeannie), Mike Cole, Ben Cole (wife, Carolyn), all of LaFayette, and Jonathan Cole (wife, Tracie) of Wadley; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Emma Blanks (husband, Joe), Ruth Davis (husband, Frankie), and Faye Blackmon (husband, Tommy), all of Wadley; and three brothers, Frank Aikens, Billy Aikens (wife, Lois), and Floyd Aikens (wife, Floy), all of Valley. Pallbearers will be Joe Blanks, Ryan Miller, John Looser, Daniel Green, Eddie Looser, and Jesse Reynolds. A Chambers County native, Mrs. Milner was born on January 10, 1941, the daughter of Hooper and Emma Eunice Baldwin Aikens. She retired from Chambers County Schools System as a history teacher and librarian. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Cleve Aikens (wife, Genette), and Dovard Aikens (wife, Mary George); and one sister, Lonida Brooks (husband, Pete).
