OBITUARY
Funeral services for Lurline P. Young, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 2:00 pm from High Pine Baptist Church with Rev. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 24th.
Mrs. Young died Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include one daughter, Toni Brown (James) of Athens, AL; one son, Jimmy Young (Melinda) of Roanoke; two sisters, Corine Hester of Roanoke and Maxine Vineyard of Newnan, Ga.; caregivers, Vicky Moore, Renae Hewitt, Donna Akins and Betty Perry; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Chip Cofield, Chris Brown, Anthony Bearden, Brett Taylor, Logan Cofield and Pace Cole.
A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mrs. Young was born November 22, 1923, daughter of John T. and Belle Smith Pullen. She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and had worked at Handley Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bo Young; a brother, Violus Pullen; and a sister, Kathleen Spivey.
