OBITUARY
Funeral services for Mr. John Hermon Lashley, age 85, of Wadley, will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 2:00 pm from New Hope Baptist Church at Cragford with Rev. Billy East, Gary Clark and Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 7th. Mr. Lashley will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Mr. Lashley died Thursday, September 4, 2015, at Traylor Nursing Facility in Roanoke.
Survivors include six grandchildren, John Wilkins, Casey Nunn, Charity Gosdin, Joseph Wilkins, Brent Lipham and Laura Nan Howe; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lottie Pilgrim and Hazel Calhoun, both of Roanoke; one brother, Bobby Lashley of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Pallbearers will be John Wilkins, Luke Wilkins, Peyton Wilkins, Joseph Wilkins, Jason Howe and Freddy Brewer.
A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Lashley was born March 2, 1930, the son of John Robert and Lena Ruth Worthy Lashley. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church at Cragford and had worked in the textile industry. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Nan Lipham and Doris Ann Wilkins; one sister, Alice Brewer; and one brother, James Lashley.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
