Funeral services for Lee Ellen Mayton, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kevin Buttrum officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2015. Mrs. Mayton passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at her residence. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Thomas Marvin Mayton; one daughter, Joyce Petty of Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Rebecca Mayton of Brunswick, GA; eight grandchildren, Tony Carlyle, Rob Carlyle (wife, Rachel), April Carlyle, Jason Carlyle, Tommy Mayton, Tammy Edwards, Billy Petty (wife, Kristina), and Crystal Osborne (husband, Jason); ten great-grandchildren; four sisters, Grace Stiles of Hiawassee, GA, Willa Mae Garrett of Monticello, GA, Betty Kade (husband, Jim) of Centre, AL, and Jo Davis of Centre, AL. A Cherokee County, North Carolina native, Mrs. Mayton was born on September 15, 1929, the daughter of Paul and Janie Capps Roberts. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had been employed as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, four brothers, and one sister.
