Funeral services for Helen McDaniel, age 77, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richie Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Potash Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2015.
Mrs. McDaniel passed away on October 8, 2015, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Pernell R. McDaniel; one daughter, Ramona Shaddix of Birmingham; one step-daughter, Susie Sheppard (husband, Mike) of Roanoke; one son, Tony Shaddix (wife, Kathy) of Montgomery; one grandchild, Gracie Shaddix; one step-grandchild, Tracy Walker; three step-great-grandchildren; step-mother, Ruth Black of Anniston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be C.J. New, Chandler New, Kip Sims, Koy Sims, Ethan Walker, and Cade Walker.
A Calhoun County native, Mrs. McDaniel was born on August 20, 1938, the daughter of Claud Black and Imogene Adams. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jackie Black; and one sister, Betty Johns.
