Obituary of Thomas Brian Knight

Funeral services for Thomas Brian “Curly” Knight, age 39, of Wadley, will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Corinth Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Zenus Windsor and Rev. Bryan Lee Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Mr. Knight will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday.
Mr. Knight passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, at University Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his parents, Tommy and Mona Knight of Wadley; his maternal grandmother, Sharon Hadaway of Smith Station; one brother, Derrick Knight (wife, Jenny) of Wadley; and one niece, Caroline Knight.
Pallbearers will be Zack Baggett, Scott Craven, Kevin Knight, Kyle Knight, Cody Hodges, Wayne Hodges, Daniel Melton, and Shane Coker.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Knight was born on August 14, 1976, the son of Tommy Oliver and Mona Nolan Knight. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earnest and Sara Knight; and his maternal grandfather, Ralph Caldwell.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
