Funeral services for Milam Willis Adamson, Sr., age 86, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald Romine and Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015.
Mr. Adamson passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Robinson Adamson of Roanoke; one daughter, Barbara Jean Arrington of Roanoke; two sons, Willis Adamson (wife, Dana) and Tommy Adamson (wife, Phyllis), both of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Tim Arrington, Ben Arrington, Chase Adamson, Anthony Gosdin, Hunter Sims, and Devin Sims.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Adamson was born on October 31, 1929, the son of Benjamin Cullman and Ruby Truitt Adamson. He was Christian by faith, a member of Randolph County Farmers Federation, and was a self-employed farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Lori Beth Adamson and Chris Adamson; and two brothers, Wayne Adamson and Leroy Adamson.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
