Obituary of Inez Smith Mitchell

OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mrs. Inez Smith Mitchell, age 90, of Roanoke, will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from the Big Springs Baptist church with Rev. Jacky Simmons and Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Mrs. Mitchell died Monday, November 8, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one daughter, Novice Treadwell of Roanoke; three sons, Jimmy Mitchell of Woodland, Thermon Mitchell of Austell, GA, Roger D. Mitchell of Phenix City; two sisters, Opal Johnston of Morrison Crossroads, Estelle Lynch of Warner Robins, GA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Cecil Bell Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Kenny Mitchell, Jamie Treadwell, Larry Traylor and Johnathon Gilliland. Mrs. Mitchell was born, December 14, 1919, the daughter of James Jasper and Lizzie Mitchell Smith. She was a member of the Big Springs Baptist Church and had been a lunch room worker for Randolph County High School. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Byron A.
