Funeral services for Milton “Sherrell” Richardson, age 75, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at 4:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Bolt officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM on Wednesday.
Mr. Richardson passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2016, at Pruitt Health in Franklin, Georgia.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Johnifer Wilson of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Chase Richardson, Brooke Richardson, Greg Wilson, and Mckala Rohrers; his siblings, Lurline Cole, Myrtle Heard, and Jimmy Richardson of Roanoke, Hershall Richardson of LaGrange, GA, Jewel Fisher of Zebulon, GA, Diane Terry of Phenix City, AL, and Judy Randall of Gloverville, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Richardson was born on May 4, 1940, the son of Kaylor and Vera Wood Richardson. He was raised in the Potash Church of God, was a member of the Alabama Army National Guard, and had worked as a mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Karon, Matthew, and Phillip Richardson; and three brothers, Flay, Ray, and Marion Richardson.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
