Obituary of Chelley Monroe Glass

Funeral services for Chelley Monroe Glass, age 80, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Horace Harper and Rev. Donald Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
Mr. Glass passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016, at his home.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Jones (husband, Nathan) of Roanoke and Gloria Pearl of Roanoke; four sons, Wayne Glass, Webb Glass, Roy Glass (wife, Erin), and Neil Glass, all of Roanoke; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Glass, Nathan Jones, Larry McVey, Don Smith, Thad Boyd, and Dwayne Perry.
A Chambers County native, Mr. Glass was born on October 23, 1935, the son of Thomas Newton and Nancy Francis Jeter Glass. He was a member of Rock Mills Community Holiness Church and was self-employed as a carpenter and mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hattie Jennell Glass; one son, Jimmy Hill; one grandson, John Michael Huckeba, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
