Funeral services for Era Bell Hill, age 88, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
Mrs. Hill passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joy McKinley (husband, Richard) of Roanoke; one son, Jimmy Ray Hill of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Bolt of Roanoke and Christopher Hill Mullins of Huntsville; and one sister, Jewell Czik of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Smith, Josh McManus, Josh Wood, Robert Justice, Jared Hudson, and Thorley Weathers.
A Woodland native, Mrs. Hill was born on February 17, 1928, the daughter of Marcus L. and Lucy Bryant Daniel. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was retired from Chrysler Motor Company. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas Eugene Hill; one son, Timothy Hill; and 14 brothers and sisters.
