Obituary of Willie Mae Pinkard

OBITUARY Funeral services for Willie Mae Pinkard, age 95, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, November 22, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Foster and Ricky Etchison officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Congregational Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 21st. Mrs. Pinkard died Friday, November 19, 2010, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke. Survivors include one sister, Faye Wylie (Robert) of Wedowee; one brother, W. J. "Jack" Ritcherson of Alpharetta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jamie Caldwell, Shane Smith, Rob Wylie, Justin Key, Daniel Worthington and Lane Sims. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Pinkard was born November 26, 1914, daughter of William Grady and Annie Lola Mapp Ritcherson. She was a member of Roanoke Church of the Nazarene and had retired from Handley Mills. She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, J. P. "Doc" Pinkard; and a sister, Flora Ward. Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions to her church.
