Obituary of Jane Howse Holloway

Funeral services for Jane Howse Holloway, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Mt. Zion Christian Church with Rev. Roger Florence and Rev. Wade Price officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 11, 2016. Mrs. Holloway will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday. Mrs. Holloway passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn. Survivors include one son, Chuck Holloway (wife, Amy) of Roanoke; one grandchild, Rylee Holloway of Roanoke; one sister, Betty Jo Treadwell (husband, Billy) of Roanoke; two sisters-in-law, Imogene Colwell of Heflin and Jelima Adamson of Lineville; four brothers-in-law, Carey Holloway of Rock Mills, Buddy Holloway of Woodland, Marion Holloway of Woodland, and Sanford Holloway of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Treadwell, Denny Treadwell, Pete Holloway, Terry Baker, Keith Richardson, and Randy Newman. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Holloway was born on January 28, 1931, the daughter of Daniel and Martha Robertson Howse. She was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church and had been employed by Roanoke City Schools as the lunchroom manager. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jackie Holloway.
