C.L. Stephens, 84, of Valley, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at EAMC-Lanier in Valley.
Survivors include: one son, Greg Stephens of Roanoke; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sarah May of Roanoke, Hildred Clause of Florida, and Doris Bolt of Roanoke.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Stephens was born on June 28, 1931, the son of William Nay and Flossie Floyd Stephens. He worked as a produce manager for Givorns Food. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Stephens; and one son, Mike Stephens.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday from the Quattlebaum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wes Kinsey officiating. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-7 P.M.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
