Obituary of Peggy Craven Richardson

Funeral services for Peggy Craven Richardson, age 70, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2:00 PM from the Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Spradlin and Rev. Roger Florence officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, June 03, 2016. Mrs. Richardson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday. Mrs. Richardson passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Billy Richardson, Sr., of Roanoke; one daughter, Samantha R. Morris of Roanoke; one son, Billy Richardson, Jr. (wife, Stefanie) of Roanoke; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry Craven (wife, Gaynan) of Wadley. Pallbearers will be Reid Satterfield, Brantley Richardson, Rocky Cook, John Henderson, Kevin Pinkard, and Jimbo Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Arnett and Riley Richardson. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Richardson was born on August 31, 1945, the daughter of Aubrey and Christine Mitchell Craven. She was a member of Woodland Congregational Methodist Church and was the owner/operator of Rock Mills Restaurant. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Floris Langley and Frances Pate.
