Fraser Rudd, age 86, of Five Points passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lavada T. Rudd of Five Points; two daughters, Debbie Rates of Monticello, FL, and Inez Rudd of Five Points; two sons, Andy Rudd of Monticello, FL and Lee Rudd of Five Points; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Metcalf, Georgia native, Mr. Rudd was born on May 6, 1930, the son of William Wesley and Annie Adelle Berry Rudd. He was a United States Army veteran and was a retired telegraph operator with CSX Railroad where he worked for over 40 years. Mr. Rudd was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
A private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
