Obituary of Catherine Crenshaw Edmondson

Funeral services for Catherine Crenshaw Edmondson, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ Cemetery in Woodland, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 PM on Sunday. Mrs. Edmondson passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Traylor’s Nursing Home. Survivors include one daughter, Carron Langley of Roanoke; two sons, Ricky Crenshaw of Roanoke and Keyvon Crenshaw of Woodland, AL; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Cornelia Brown of Franklin, GA; and one brother, Douglas Yates of Woodland, AL. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Edmondson’s grandchildren, Tracy Crenshaw, Colby Crenshaw, Austin Crenshaw, Landon Crenshaw, and River Crenshaw; and Mrs. Edmondson’s great-grandson, Zack Langley. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Edmondson was born on January 18, 1931, the daughter of Roy Rufus and Essie Mae Prince Yates. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had retired from Traylor’s Nursing Home as a CNA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Teurman Crenshaw; and her second husband, Fred Edmondson.
