Obituary of Irma Jean Pike

Graveside services for Irma Jean Pike, age 88, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Wehadkee Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Yarbrough and Darden Arrington officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
Mrs. Pike passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at her residence.
Survivors include: one daughter, Glenda Ziglar (husband, Tom) of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Jeanine Ziglar Hineman; two great-grandchildren, Drake Hineman and Zachary Hineman; three sisters, Toby Hornsby of Franklin, Helen Hannah of Dalton, GA, and Juanita Adamson of Newnan; one sister-in-law, Faye Wesson of Roanoke; one brother, Edward Adamson of Sharpsburg, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Wesson, Anthony Pike, Eddie Adamson, Eddie Pike, Steve Pike, and Timmy Pike.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Pike was born on May 9, 1928, the daughter of Henry Lane and Vera Mozelle Hall Adamson. She was a member of Forest Home Congregational Christian Church and worked as a molder for Rubbermaid of LaGrange. Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Pike; one brother, Awbrey Adamson; and one sister, Melba Richardson.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Bethany Lime Congregational Christian Church’s Happy Meal Program.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
