Funeral services for Christine Parrish Lane, age 89, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 2:00 PM at High Pine Baptist Church with Rev. R.L. Brazil officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday. Mrs. Lane passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include one daughter, Loralee Swanton of Opelika, AL; one son, Michael Lane of Valencia, CA; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierce ‘Red’ Lane, her parents, brothers Hulon, Eules and Paul, and sisters Ava Bennett and Grace Brazil. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Lane was born on July 23, 1927, the daughter of Mitchell and Nannie Lee Carson Parrish. She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and had worked for Clegg Manufacturing Company. Serving as pallbearers are nephews: Bobby Brazil, Jody Noles, Andy Noles, Justin Stabler, Kenneth Phipps and Gene Taylor. Christine requested that in lieu of flowers, contribution be made to High Pine Baptist Church.
