Funeral services for Willie Morris, Jr., age 79, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Mr. Morris passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Vickery Morris of Roanoke; three daughters, Tammy Hornsby (Chris) of LaGrange, Rhonda Dufrene (Ernest) of Oxford, and Veronica Adkins (Dana) of Cleveland, OH; three sons, Marcus Morris of Roanoke, Jimmy Ray Morris (Amy) of Cleveland, OH, and Roderick Vorhees of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Tennessee native, Mr. Morris was born on November 18, 1937, the son of Willie Morris, Sr., and Addie Patterson Morris. He worked as a logger for Billy Alsabrook. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Ward and Bonnie Tyler.
