Obituary of William Larry Johnson

Funeral services for William “Larry” Johnson, age 74, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Lorenzo Foster and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
Mr. Johnson passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Johnson of Roanoke; three daughters, Cindy Holloway (husband, Jimmy Lee), Marsha Jackson (husband, Jamie), and Janet Duffie, all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jo Ann Harper of Corpus Christi, TX.
Pallbearers will be John Henderson, Xavier Pool, Jeremy Holloway, Stan Autrey, Ethan Henderson, Luke’a Brown, Jimmy Lee Holloway, and T
yler Henderson.
A Carroll County native, Mr. Johnson was born on April 1, 1942, the son of Mary Christine Holloway Johnson. He was a United States Army veteran, worked as an accountant and owner of Quality Quick Tax, and was a member of the American Legion and the National Tax Preparer’s Association. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
