Funeral services for Mary Virginia Adcock, age 94, of Auburn, will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 2:30 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:30 PM prior to funeral services.
Mrs. Adcock passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
Survivors include: one son, Jimmy C. Adcock of Trussville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Josie Pearl Middlebrook and Barbara Ann Akin, both of Roanoke.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Adcock was born on May 25, 1922, the daughter of Joseph Earnest Johnson and Sally Beatrice Fincher. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lafayette and did clerical work at Farmers and Merchants Bank. Mrs. Adcock lived at Oak Park Independent Living for the last 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Elva Carlos Adcock; her second husband, Edwin Boyd; two sons, Wayne Adcock and Joe Tom Adcock; one sister, Mary Lynn Nelson; and three brothers, Tom L. Johnson, Henry Johnson, and Allen Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lafayette at 104 North Lafayette Street, Lafayette, AL 36862.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
