Obituary of Gary Pledger

Funeral services for Gary Pledger, age 71, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mickey Vaughn and Rev. Randy Black officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Mr. Pledger passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Ann Baldwin of Roanoke; three daughters, Stacy Farmer of Carrollton, GA, Nedra Cofield of Roanoke, and Rhonda Loveless (husband, Richard) of Woodland; five sons, Shane Pledger (wife, Kristie) of Whitesburg, GA, Ricky Wheeler (wife, Sandra) of Five Points, Randy Black (wife, Tina) of Trussville, Eddy Baldwin (wife, Melody) of Wadley and Kevin Baldwin (wife, Kim) of Roanoke; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Vinzant (husband, George) of Yulee, FL; and one brother, Harold Pledger (wife, Marsha) of Rome, GA. A Cave Springs, Georgia native, Mr. Pledger was born on August 21, 1945, the son of David Henry and Sarah Morgan Pledger. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as an IT technician for INEOS USA. Mr. Pledger was an avid Nascar fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles Edward “Gabby” Pledger and Doyle Earl Pledger.
