Obituary of Virginia Nell Hammontree

Virginia Nell Collier Hammontree, age 96, of Roanoke passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Visitation will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Home on Monday, May 22, 2017, from 3:00-5:00 PM.
Survivors include: one son, Robert William Hammontree (wife, Gail) of Schulenburg, TX; two grandchildren, William Richard Hammontree of Schulenburg, TX, and Laura Ashly Reina, of Nacogdoches, TX; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Reina; and several nieces and nephews.
A Chambers County native, Mrs. Hammontree was born on February 28, 1921, the daughter of John Will and Lena C. Vinson Collier.  She was a graduate of Five Points High School and Massy Business College in Houston, Texas.  Mrs. Hammontree was a member of Antioch Christian Church and was a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William T. Hammontree; six sisters; and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Antioch Christian Church or the charity of one’s choice.
