OBITUARY

Funeral services for, Mrs. Hilda Prather Cummings, age 88, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, January 31, 2011, from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley and Rev. Michael Overton officiating. Burial to follow in Welcome Home Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, January 30th.

Mrs. Cummings died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Traylor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Cummings is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Boyd of Anniston, Delilah (husband Jimmy) Fetner of Roanoke, Susan (husband Mark) Murphy of Roanoke; three sons, Durell Burks of Anniston, Billy Joe (wife Terresa) Cummings of Roanoke, Ricky (wife Sara) Cummings of Roanoke; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Boyd, Tim Boyd, Jimmy Fetner, Jr, John Fetner, Jeff Fetner, Rocco Tomeo and Randy Yarbrough.

Mrs. Cummings was born, November 13, 1922, the daughter of John M. and Annie Burgess Prather. She was a member of the Rock Mills Church of God and had worked at Traylor Nursing Home in the Dietary Department. Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her husband, T. B.
