OBITUARY
Funeral services for, Mr. Carey Joe Brooks, age 67, of Roanoke, will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, March 4, 2011, from the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Junior Plunkett and Rev. Richard Richie officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Mr. Brooks died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Roanoke Health Care.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Judy Phillips Brooks of Roanoke; one daughter, Darlene Baldwin of Roanoke; one son, Phillip Brooks of Joppa; one sister, Dorothy Plunkett of Arab; three grandchildren; Dylan Baldwin, Ali Pike and Aiden Brooks.
Pallbearers will be Corky Frost, Kenis Rowlan, Lindsey Stephens, Ralph Wilder, Herman McDow and Allen Ramsey, Jr.
Mr. Brooks was born, May 16, 1943, the son of Landers and Rosa A. Brown Brooks. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had been a supervisor for Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leroy and Doug Brooks. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
