Funeral services for Nell Alsabrook, age 87, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Otis Hodnett and Rev. Keith Pressley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2017.

Mrs. Alsabrook passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Atlanta Medical Center.

Survivors include one son, James Alsabrook of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Susan Pressley (husband, Keith) of Roanoke and Keith Alsabrook (wife, April) of Lawrenceburg, KY; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Pressley Mapp, Kyle Pressley, Tyler Alsabrook, Hunter Alsabrook, Conner Alsabrook, and Colton Alsabrook; and one great-great-grandchild, Kennedy Mapp.

Pallbearers will be Keith Alsabrook, Kyle Pressley, Bryant Mapp, Rodney Manley, Randy Fleming, David Cummings, and Randall Harlin.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Alsabrook was born on June 8, 1930, the daughter of Wybon Lee and Pearlie Baldwin Owens. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and had worked for Prestolite Battery. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Lonnie B. Norred; her husband, James C. Alsabrook; one brother, V.L. Owens; and two sisters, Kate Janney and Rudine Manley.
