Obituary of Rena Mae Tidwell Hodge

Funeral services for Rena Mae Tidwell Hodge, age 96, of Wadley will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Wadley First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Wadley Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, October 29 before services begin.

Mrs. Hodge passed away Friday, October 27, 2017, at her residence.

Survivors include: three daughters, Patricia Watson (Gene) of Eufaula, AL, Susie Rovansek (Joe) of Fairfax, VA, and Kay Mallory (Tony) of Suwanee, GA; one son, Paul Hodge (Brenda) of Gadsden, AL; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lee Watson, Joey Rovansek, Barry Teel, Johnny Coker, Tim Kennedy, and Jimmy Allen.

A Wadley native, Mrs. Hodge was born on June 24, 1921, the daughter of William Wyatt and Montana Nix Tidwell.  She was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress for Clegg Manufacturing Co.  Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Lester Hodge; three sisters, Elmer Tidwell, Inez Kilgore, and Nellie Jean Kennedy; and two brothers, Woodrow Tidwell and Garon Tidwell.
